Boarding at Dakar Academy
West Africa’s Premier Family-Style Boarding Experience for Grades 9–12
Welcome to the boarding program at Dakar Academy Central Campus—a truly unique, deeply nurturing, and Christ-centered home-away-from-home, available exclusively to high school students in grades 9–12. As West Africa’s only family-style boarding experience, our program is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place to belong.
Discover what makes Dakar Academy Central a vibrant, faith-centered educational institution that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
Strategically located on our secure, walled-in Central Campus, this premier program is designed for families living and serving across North and West Africa who want their children to thrive academically, spiritually, and socially in a stable, supportive residential setting.
A Place That Feels Like Home
DA’s boarding homes are carefully crafted to function like families. Each home is led by a full-time, loving married couple—our “boarding parents”—whose mission is to care for, guide, and support students holistically. With spacious common areas, shared meals, and nightly devotions, students experience the stability, rhythm, and connection that define home life.
Every student has a personal space, with no more than three students per room, access to shared bathrooms, modern technology, and cozy hangout spots. Our boarding students share laughter and life through spontaneous ice cream runs, paintball, beach outings, soccer nights, and camping trips to Lac Rose—creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

Our Boarding Parents: Champions of Care
At the heart of each boarding home are our dedicated and experienced home parents—nurturing mentors who treat students as their own and foster growth, accountability, and community.
Girls’ Boarding Home-Jeremy & Tamara Jenkins
With experience in Alaska, Indonesia, and Senegal, Jeremy (a Dakar Academy alumnus) and Tamara lead with love and intention. Along with their four children—Jace, Reece, Josie, and Ziva—they bring stability and joy to the girls’ home.
Boys’ Boarding Home-Bobby & Carrie Johnson
With years of experience in education and youth ministry, Bobby and Carrie Johnson have dedicated themselves to providing a holistic approach to student discipleship at their Boys’ Boarding Home. From academic support to spiritual growth to practical life skills, they believe in nurturing every aspect of a young man’s development.
Through a structured program and a nurturing environment, Bobby and Carrie strive to create a sense of community and belonging for each boy under their care.
