Graduation Requirements

High School students are offered a variety of courses from which to choose. Students must earn 22 credits plus 1 credit of Bible for each year enrolled at Dakar Academy in grades 9-12.

  • English: 4 credits

  • 2 Math credits/3 Science credits OR 3 Math credits/2 Science credits

  • Social Studies: 3 credits including US History (or World History for international students), .5 Economics, .5 Comparative Government

  • Foreign Language: 2 credits

  • Physical Education: 1 credit

  • Health: .5 credit

  • Technology: .5 credit

  • Fine Arts: 1 credit

  • Speech: .5 credit

  • Remaining credits may be electives (any subject after minimum requirements have been met)

Three to four years each of math and science with additional courses in fine arts, media and computing are highly recommended, particularly if the student plans to attend college.
